PRP Micro-needling in Indianapolis at Synergy Spa of The Guyer Institute

compact mirror

Take a look in the mirror!

If you’re lucky, you may see mostly even-toned, soft, smooth, and taut skin. If you’re like most of us, however, you’ll probably see some uneven pigmentation, a few age spots, redness, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and sagginess. Women (and men) can spend a lot of time applying expensive cosmetics in vain attempts to cover skin imperfections. Pamela Anderson, the sexual siren of the 1990’s TV show Baywatch said it best –

Natural beauty takes at least two hours in front of a mirror.”

All of these so-called “flaws” are evidence of damaged skin. Just as a brand new car gradually loses that shiny sheen and becomes etched, dulled, rusted, scratched, and marked, our skin gets worn by exposure to the sun and environmental elements, and because of the changes that occur inside us as we age.

As we apply cosmetics to cover these skin flaws, we can’t help but wonder..

Can we repair any of this damaged skin?”

 Fortunately, the answer is YES.

At Guyer Institute’s Synergy Spa, we are offering PRP in conjunction with MD Pen micro-needling. It’s perfect for repairing damaged skin, using the healing power of your own blood to rejuvenate the skin.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, a natural product produced by your own blood. It is obtained by drawing a small amount of blood from a patient into a sterile tube. The blood is then spun using a centrifuge to separate the PRP, which contains a concentration of stem cells, growth factors, and platelets that are very important for tissue healing. PRP has been used since the 1970’s to aid the healing process for large-scale surgeries. But, its use to regenerate skin and revitalize collagen is a relatively new procedure.

Here’s how it works so well.

After obtaining the PRP from the patient’s own blood, it is topically applied to the skin prior to the MD Pen micro-needling procedure. Micro-needling is, itself, a relatively new, non-ablative skin regeneration therapy. MD Pen micro-needling rapidly creates a pattern of micro channels just below the surface of the skin. When combined with PRP, this action rejuvenates tired skin in two ways.

And second (here is where the PRP comes into play), having the PRP already applied on the skin enables the micro-needling to channel the PRP, penetrating into the sub layers of the dermis. This increases the regenerative effectiveness of the collagen-producing PRP. This short video shows what to expect during a micro-needling treatment –

Denise Kaler, CEO of Synergy Spa, is a big proponent of this regenerative skin treatment – “I really appreciated the results of utilizing my own PRP in conjunction with a micro-needling treatment. I think it’s great that even in my sixties, I’m able to achieve glowing skin, and really improve my complexion.”

So..eliminate those hours spent in front of a mirror covering skin flaws with cosmetics. Instead, try PRP with micro-needling at Synergy Spa for a long-lasting, younger, radiant look.

The Amazing Non-invasive FAT FREEZING treatment!

Popular lifestyle show Living By Design airs each Sunday at 6 pm EST on the WHMB Channel 40 Network out of Indiana. Denise Kaler, CEO of Synergy Spa of The Guyer Institute was interviewed in front of the show’s live audience about CoolSculpting® along with some other aesthetic topics. You can catch the full interview here:

Denise Kaler, CEO of Synergy Spa

Denise is considered an expert in the Midwest on CoolSculpting®, and she has been internationally recognized for her success with this new, exciting fat-reduction technique. Kaler described CoolSculpting® as a “revolutionary contouring treatment that can transform your body with no needles, no anesthesia, and no downtime. It’s ideal for men and women who want to target stubborn areas of body fat resistant to diet and exercise.”

Kaler explained how CoolSculpting® works. It uses the science of cryolipolysis (a fancy word for freezing) to FREEZE the fat. Once the fat is frozen, it is naturally eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system. And, “once the fat is gone, it’s gone for good!”

Members of the studio audience asked Kaler questions about CoolSculpting® and how it works. One question was “How many treatments are required?

Kaler answered by saying “Unless a person is heavy and want to de-bulk (those may take multiple treatments), sculpting away things like a stomach pooch, love handles, or excess back fat will typically only require one treatment.” And, she was quick to add, “Once the fat is frozen, it’s gone for GOOD!

Another question was “What areas of the body can be treated by CoolSculpting®”?

Most areas of pinchable fat can be treated,” said Kaler.

The first step in learning more about CoolSculpting® involves a complimentary, no-pressure consultation visit to Guyer Institute to determine what areas on your body can best be treated.

Hormone Balance with Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy

You’ve probably heard the expression “Their hormones are just out of wack!”

hormones are out of wack!

The truth is, hormones play an important role in how we feel. And, as we age, hormonal imbalance can become a real issue, affecting not only our mood but also our overall health.

Dr. Dale Guyer of the Guyer Institute likes to describe our hormone system (endocrine system) as “a symphony of sorts wherein each instrument needs to be played in conjunction with the others in total balance.’

Guyer Institute’s Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy is an ideal way to preserve the ageing experience. You don’t have to gain weight or have hot flashes, and you can preserve your immune health”, said Dr. Guyer.   It involves the synergy of putting all the hormones together through a treatment known as bio identical hormone replacement. The same hormones that your body makes can be made from yams (yes, yams!) and work very well in restoring life quality.

When hormones are out of balance, our bodies have a way of telling us. For women, this problem could show up as hot flashes, sleep disturbance, mood swings, and symptoms of skin or vaginal dryness.

For men, the onset of symptoms can often be very gradual over a span of five to 10 years as testosterone and other essential hormone levels gradually decline at a rate of about 10 percent per year. And, often they are not even aware of a problem. Their spouse may be the first to notice the change. Possibly he has become more lethargic and much less motivated. Perhaps he has gained weight, experienced a decrease in libido, has poor exercise tolerance, and a general overall diminishment in life enjoyment.

Fortunately, conditions of hormonal imbalance can be corrected in both men and women. For women, these symptoms can be resolved in a fairly quick time frame when hormone levels are restored. For men, restoration of testosterone and other hormone levels to a more optimal and younger age will tend to diminish and mitigate those overall concerning symptoms while substantially improving overall long-term health.

We start losing hormones in our late 20’s, and Dr. Guyer states that it happens to both women AND men, although symptoms usually affect women first. Everyone is unique and the time-frame when symptoms start to show up varies in the individual.

Denise Kaler, CEO of Synergy Spa

Denise Kaler, CEO of Synergy Spa, described how Dr. Guyer was able to help alleviate her “hot flashes” – “Dr. Guyer did some labs, then was able to formulate a cream for me to use along with a pill I take at night. At 61, I never thought I would feel so vibrant! You CAN feel like a million bucks!

If you feel your “hormones are out of wack”, consider Bio Identical Hormone replacement therapy to substantially improve your overall long-term health.
