PRP for hair loss | micro needling hair regrowth treatment Indianapolis

PRP for Hair Restoration- using the power of your own Platelets to stimulate hair follicle growth!

It’s a common scenario. And it’s easy to get freaked out.

You start seeing globs of hair in the shower drain.

The truth is, hair loss can be scary! It’s an important part of a person’s identity. And, it affects both men AND women. So, forget the sexist myth that hair loss is a man’s problem.

About 40–50% of women are affected by hair thinning,” says Nicole Rogers, MD, a hair transplant surgeon and board-certified dermatologist based in New Orleans.

In fact, about 50% of all women experience female pattern hair loss (yes, that exists) by age 50. The hair loss usually involves diffuse thinning right on top of the head. Decreased density on top of the head or even a widening part is a common sign of hair loss in women. It could be inherited or sparked by hormone changes or everyday aging.

For men, male pattern baldness has always been a common dilemma. About 30% experience significant balding by age 30. That number increases to about 50% by age 50!

Given our cultural focus on physical appearance, youth, and health, it’s understandable how hair loss can be traumatic for both men and women. While it’s a fact that the market is filled with hair-enhancing treatments, recent scientific research and technology has provided the medical community with new understandings of wound and tissue healing, and by association, new ways to treat hair loss.

PRP is an affective, all-natural way to stimulate hair follicle growth.

As a result of these scientific studies, leading edge institutions like Guyer Institute are now offering hair restoration treatments using the amazing regenerative power of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). http://www.guyerinstitute.com

First approved by the FDA 30 years ago for advanced wound healing, PRP has become an affective, natural treatment for hair growth.  And, when combined with micro-needling treatment, the results are even more effective.

PRP- the “healing power” within our blood!

The process is simple. At Guyer Institute, we harvest a patients own PRP by drawing their blood, using a centrifuge to separate the PRP from the rest of the blood cells, all within a few minutes.

Although blood is mainly a liquid (called plasma), it also contains small solid components (red cells, white cells, and platelets). The platelets are best known for their importance in clotting blood.

It’s the protein growth factors of PRP that are the key

Platelets contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors, which are very important in the healing of injuries. PRP is plasma with many more platelets than what is typically found in blood. In fact, separating PRP by centrifuge can result in a concentration of these growth factors 5 to 10 times greater than what is naturally found in the blood.

The application of PRP to the scalp involves two steps

The application of the PRP with highly concentrated growth factors to the dermis is a two-step process. First, after the skin of the scalp has been numbed, Dr. Guyer uses a very short fine needle to inject the PRP into the scalp.

Then, an additional application of PRP is applied externally to the scalp, followed immediately by a micro-needling treatment to the same area of the scalp.

The combination of the direct injections along with the additional penetration of PRP that can be achieved by using MD Pen micro-needling guarantees the maximum growth factors are embedded into the scalp where hair regeneration is needed. This will boost collagen production in the tissues and can revive shrinking hair follicles.

While this treatment cannot make hair grow where the follicles have already died, it can regenerate weak follicles to grow hair once again thereby achieving a thickening of hair in areas that previously were thinning.

Additional treatments can be performed every 4 to 6 weeks for a total of 3 procedures. Maintenance would then be one treatment once or twice a year for most clients.

So, if you are faced with thinning hair, put the regenerative power of your own blood to use. PRP can renew weak hair follicles, giving you a thicker head of hair once again.

IV Therapy | Vitamin IV Therapy Indianapolis

IV Therapy- a solution for a most common complaint?

“To hear complaints is wearisome alike to the wretched and the happy.”- Samuel Johnson

I’m tired all the time.”

It’s a common complaint.

And, it’s one uttered more by women than men. It has to do with our energy level. There are lots of us, it seems, that suffer from chronic tiredness. I’m not talking about the occasional problem staying awake during prime time sitcoms. I’m talking about fatigue that is persistent and limiting. You may even wake in the morning feeling as though you never slept.

How common is fatigue”, you ask?

Very common, indeed!

Experts say that 10% of people globally at any one time are suffering from persistent tiredness. And, it’s one of the most common complaints of patients visiting doctors. The National Institutes of Health informs that approximately one in every five Americans claims to have fatigue that is severe enough to interfere with daily normal life.

Of course, there are many causes of chronic tiredness. Some of the most common are stress, allergic rhinitis, anemia, depression, and fibromyalgia. http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/excessive-sleepiness-10/how-tired-is-too-tired Regardless, more and more people are researching the Internet, looking to natural remedies for tiredness. And, their research may lead them to visit to their local Whole Foods or Earth Fare store, where they buy vitamins or supplements they HOPE can boost their energy-deprived bodies.

So, are oral vitamins and supplements the answer?

There’s certainly nothing wrong with treating a tired body with vitamins and minerals. A deficiency in this area could, indeed, be contributing to the fatigue. However, treating this condition orally has limitations. Any physician will tell you that the human digestive tract has limited ability to absorb vitamins or supplements directly into the blood stream where the nutrients are really needed in order to benefit.

IV Vitamin/Mineral Therapy is the perfect solution.

IV therapy is a method of infusing vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances directly into the bloodstream. Injecting these life-enhancing agents this way is beneficial in two ways.

  • First, we are bypassing the limitations of the digestive system completely.
  • Secondly, administering nutrients directly into the blood stream allows for higher than normal blood levels.

These increased levels can provide an immediate therapeutic response by correcting deficiencies that may arise from a disease state.

IV therapy allows for 100% absorption of these vital nutrients and minerals by the body. Guyer Institute has performed over 100,000 IV therapies, and for many patients, they provide a core essential contribution to enhancing their overall well-being. http://www.guyerinstitute.com

IV Vitamin/Mineral Therapy can help in many health-related issues!

IV therapy is not just for chronic fatigue. It’s also useful for treating many different conditions, including:

  • Chronic depression
  • Acute or chronic muscle spasm
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migraine headaches
  • Tension headaches
  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis
  • Respiratory problems

Deficiencies, once diagnosed, can be corrected with a few IV vitamin infusions administered over one to three weeks in what might otherwise have taken two to three ears of oral supplementation to restore normal levels.

Who took my Collagen and How Can I get it back

There are numerous weapons in a woman’s battle against aging. But if ANY were to deserve the title “elixir of youth”, it’s collagen.

This precious protein is the basic building block of the skin; forming mesh-like bonds to hold it firm and prevent sagging.

When we are young, skin is made up of 80 per cent collagen. After the age of 25, we lose it at the rate of about one per cent a year. The result is the twin curses of wrinkles and saggy skin.

For Cosmetic companies-profits abound in the collagen replacement market!

Cosmetic companies know this well, having built a large portion of their multi-billion-dollar business tapping into this insatiable market for collagen. Chasing the golden goose of collagen replacement, they constantly roll out a steady stream of new supplements and treatments, all promising to replace lost collagen and the associated ravages that come with hormonal aging.

But, these over- the- counter products come at a high price!

Going to your nearest department store to buy some restorative eye cream, a dark circle corrector and a jar of anti-wrinkle face cream could easily cost you more than $200! The small jars may last you a month or two (if you’re lucky) and use them sparingly.

There’s GOT to be a better way!

As more and more baby boomers seek ways to maintain a youthful radiance, they are increasingly looking for alternatives to the standard face creams and treatments they see at the cosmetic counters.

At Guyer Institute, we offer a better solution for collagen replacement.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to improve the skin from the “inside out” rather than the “outside in?” Better yet, “what if we could stimulate our bodies to replace it’s own collagen that has been lost?

There is!

Introducing MD Pen micro-needling, available at our Synergy Spa.

Micro-needling is a new, non-ablative skin regeneration therapy. And, it stimulates the production of collagen from the inside out, resulting in a clearer, more youthful looking skin.

MD Pen rapidly creates a pattern of micro channels in the treatment area. And, it’s those micro channels that significantly increase the production of collagen and elastin to leave your skin smoother, fresher, and more uniform. It’s really allowing the body to stimulate new collagen from the inside out!

In addition, these channels also enhance the skin’s ability to absorb medical grade topicals, like anti-aging serums and skin lighteners, when applied during or immediately after the procedure by our licensed esthetician Christina (Cricket) Hemp.

So, if you’re asking the question “Who took my collagen and how can I get it back?” consider MD Pen Micro-needling-a natural alternative to the cosmetic counter!

CoolSculpting | fat reduction procedure | Remove unwanted fat

CoolSculpting® – a smart alternative to WASTING money on your WAIST!

It’s a never-ending battle.

Women (and men) are on a constant buying spree, seeking that next piece of apparel that will make them feel good about their appearance.

But, it’s an expensive undertaking.

According to Bureau of Economic Analysis, the average American spends $1700 on buying clothes and related items per year. For women, you can double that number – so approximately $3400 is spent per year on clothing and apparel – that’s $283.33 per month. And for teenagers, the number is even higher, closer to $420 per month.

Americans’ belt size continues to inch up, and women’s waistlines are widening faster than men’s, according to new government research. “Waists are still expanding in the U.S., and particularly so among women,” said study researcher Dr. Earl Ford, a medical officer at the CDC.

What’s behind the growing waistline,” you ask?

The culprits are many; they include a more sedentary work environment, the proliferation of processed foods, and stress.

Clothes designers know this and have compensated by using “vanity sizing” labeling. So, you’re size 8 dress of today may actually be a couple sizes larger than last year’s size 8 purchase. The intent is to make the consumer feel good about their purchase.

But, this trickery doesn’t make us feel any better when we see our image in the mirror. We know what the eye is telling us. It sees the excess fat around the waistline.

Despite that latest clothing purchase and all our dieting and exercise, that persistent belly pooch remains.

At Guyer Institute, we have the solution. CoolSculpting® treatments offer a perfect way to eliminate belly pooch!

CoolSculpting® is just one brand of Cryolipolysis. This FDA-approved treatment has only been in the U.S. for a few years. It promises a cheaper, quicker way to lose pounds compared to liposuction and other invasive procedures.

Our Synergy Spa technicians are certified in CoolSculpting® procedures and have treated hundreds of patients over the past year. The process is simple- a special applicator is strapped to the treatment area. It chills the skin and, over time, freezes and kills the fat cells in that area before they are naturally eliminated. Once the fat cells are gone, they are gone for good! Best of all, there are no needles, no anesthesia and no recovery time.

As the name implies, CoolSculpting® is the perfect way to sculpt away those stubborn fatty deposits of the stomach, thighs, and arms. What’s left is a more attractive, form-fitting figure.

So, stop WASTING fashion dollars covering a WAIST that you really don’t like. Instead, let our CoolSculpting® treatments give you the permanent, attractive physique you desire.
